The lack of a balanced input/output is my only negative with the Feliks. I’m running a Shiit Gungnir Multibit “ladder” DAC currently which sounds fantastic with it, but … always looking for any possible upgrade. I am contemplating purchasing the Decware XLR to RCA converter which (according to Upscale Audio) will substantially improve the Feliks performance from the Gungnir. I’m also contemplating the Holo Audio May 2 Kitsune Edition and Denafrips Pontus or Terminator DACs. Lots to think about.

My subjective preferences are usually on the warm and music side, I tend to stick with the Burson series. At the moment I am using the Burson Performance and the rig sounds fantastic. My only gripe is power output, I wish the Feliks had much more power and a balanced XLR/2.5 adaptor potential so I can run in balanced mode.

I am so happy you enjoy it too, it is magnificent.

I just purchased the Euforia 20th Anniversary Edition. Incredible amp. Now I’m in the same position as you regarding finding the best matching DAC. Have you had any luck? Ideas?

I have limited experience with the HD820, heard it once for about 30 seconds a while back. So, I cannot speak for it at all. I can say the HD800S will rig pair likely even better with this amp. The HD800S has more apparent low end and more tamed treble than the stock HD800, so that is a win for me. I speak on theory there, as I don’t have a HD800S…but, it is vividly clear that the HD800 is even more well suited for the Euphoria 20th.

The sun has a luminosity radiant flux rating of L ☉

where as the tube glow of an amplifier or dac with a tube has a radiant flux leveling of 1(cd)

Our sun is 3 octillion times as bright as a candle, which is a bit more bright than a tube amp glow.
